Pro Bono Client Collaborations
Our pro bono impact extends well beyond individual cases. Throughout the year, we partnered with corporate clients, community organizations, and legal aid providers to host clinics and events that brought legal services directly to the people who need them most. These collaborations reflect a shared conviction: access to justice is not a privilege, but a responsibility we all share.
Partnering with SeniorLAW Center and Clients
Blank Rome partners each month with SeniorLAW Center, a nonprofit legal services organization dedicated to advancing justice for older adults by using the power of the law, educating the community, and advocating on local, state, and national levels. Through recurring life-planning clinics, our attorneys help seniors secure essential legal documents— such as wills, living wills, and healthcare and financial powers of attorney— that safeguard autonomy, promote dignity, and reduce the risk of exploitation. Many of these monthly clinics are strengthened through collaboration with our clients’ corporate legal departments and community partners. Some highlights were:
• In January, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Blank Rome partnered with Comcast’ s legal department to host a life-planning clinic for older Philadelphians. This clinic was later recognized by the Pro Bono Institute(“ PBI”) as a PBI Showcase Clinic, highlighting its impact.
• In April, the firm partnered with in-house counsel from PNC Bank to conduct a clinic in connection with PNC’ s Financial Institutions Day of Service, expanding access to critical legal protections for low-income seniors who might otherwise be unable to afford them.
• In June, as a part of PECO / Exelon’ s“ All Hands Day” of Service, we collaborated with PECO / Exelon to host a clinic for low-income seniors, with bilingual volunteers serving as interpreters for non-English speakers, as needed.
