Earth Day

At Blank Rome, Earth Day highlights how intentional, everyday choices, when adopted across the firm, can meaningfully reduce the legal industry’ s collective environmental footprint. We encourage a digital-first approach to work, mindful energy use( such as powering down equipment), lower-impact commuting options, and the reduction of single-use items, recognizing that sustainability extends beyond the office into our homes and daily habits. We also encourage colleagues to share practical sustainability tips, reinforcing a culture of shared responsibility.

To mark Earth Day, we partnered with our BR Parents and Caregivers affinity group to distribute recycled wildflower seed packets across our offices, supporting pollinators and local ecosystems while offering a simple, hands-on way for our firm to engage in sustainable practices.

New Office Fruit Vendor

Through our partnership with a mission-driven fruit vendor, Blank Rome is advancing environmental sustainability while supporting small-scale agriculture. Our vendor donates at least 20 percent of its annual profits to hunger relief initiatives and small farms. To further reduce food waste, all surplus food is donated whenever possible, with remaining waste responsibly composted.

This approach delivers measurable environmental benefits by diverting food from landfills and reducing associated greenhouse gas emissions. The vendor also prioritizes sourcing from small farms and independent suppliers— strengthening local economies, supporting a diverse and resilient food system, and contributing to a healthier environment.

Over the past year, Blank Rome’ s impact has included:

177 servings of food donated

89 pounds of food waste prevented

181 pounds of greenhouse gas diverted

Together, these efforts reflect our commitment to practical, scalable solutions to reduce environmental impact and promote long-term sustainability.
