What lessons have you learned from your children?
I’ ve learned that children of all ages need steady love, hugs, encouragement, and support from family. They often model compassion and forgiveness. It’ s easy to get caught up in personal or professional pursuits, but children help center and focus us on what matters most. A hard day at work is quickly forgotten when confronted with children who eagerly share their dreams, challenges, excitements, and love.

Veteran’ s Day What does Veteran’ s Day mean to you?
The military is a family business. My parents met while they were both stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas, and proceeded to raise five kids— all of whom commissioned and served in the Army. My wife is a veteran, too. Commitment to public service is a virtue and Veterans Day, for me, is a day to honor those that raised their right hands, took an oath, and served our country.
