West HQ breaks tradition with two car Ultimate Family Giveaway

West HQ announced the winner of its major Yours. Mine. Ours. promotion in December – and unlike most car giveaways, this prize included two vehicles for a single winner.
The recipient is Hassall Grove local Ramon De Castro, a long-time member whose world revolves around his closeknit family, including four energetic grandchildren. For Ramon, the prize is about far more than transport – it’ s an unexpected gift that arrives after decades of family life, work and celebration across Western Sydney. His story reflects the community spirit that defines West HQ and the many multigenerational families who consider the precinct part of their everyday lives.
Running through October and November, the promotion was specifically designed around the needs of multigenerational households, which are now commonplace in Western Sydney. Many families include grandparents, parents and adult children living under the same roof, often needing mobility for different generations at the same time.
The prize package included a Kia EV3 Air, an all-electric SUV, and a Kia Hybrid Sportage SX HEV, alongside experiences across the precinct including family entertainment at the Coliseum Theatre, stays at Novotel Sydney West HQ, and fitness memberships at SGAC and One55.
West HQ Chief Executive Officer Richard Errington said Yours. Mine. Ours. has been one of the most engaging promotions ever delivered, because it genuinely reflects how Western Sydney families live today.
“ Multigenerational households are now the norm across the region, and this prize was designed to support that reality, whether it’ s mobility, time together, or access to entertainment and wellbeing experiences,” Mr Errington said.“ More than 50 per cent of families visiting West HQ are multigenerational, and this prize was designed specifically for them and the experiences they can share. We’ re thrilled to award this prize to the De Castro family and to celebrate a moment that will genuinely make a difference.”
More than 100,000 entries were generated by Members and Guests spending across West HQ’ s dining, fitness, accommodation and entertainment venues. Twenty-four weekly finalists were drawn, with each securing a key. All key holders returned to West HQ for the final draw on 30 November, where one key unlocked the prize door. The remaining finalists received a $ 500 cash prize.
The promotion also featured an extensive Kia vehicle activation, including a Kia EV5 test-drive program. As the first activation of its kind in Australia, it gave families hands-on access to electric vehicles in a familiar community setting.
Heartland Motor Group Chief Executive Officer Rohan Meyer said the activations reflect a shift in customer expectations.
“ People increasingly expect brands to come to them, not the other way around. Offering test drives at West HQ has been a first for us in Australia and a meaningful way to give families hands-on access to our latest models,” he said.“ To finish with two new Kias going to a local family is a fantastic outcome and something we’ re very proud to support.”
For the De Castro family, this extraordinary moment becomes part of their personal story – and a reminder that Western Sydney is a place where community connection thrives and where opportunities like this can be truly life-changing.
