POLITICS $ 10 million to extend Hambleton road into Tallawong

with Warren Kirby MP State Member for Riverstone
For too long, families in North West Sydney have carried the burden of rapid housing growth without the infrastructure to match. The former Liberal Government pushed thousands of new homes into our community but failed to deliver the roads, schools, and essential services local families need. The failure to complete Hambledon Road into Tallawong is one of the clearest examples of that neglect.
That’ s why I am proud the Minns Labor

Mount Druitt Community Health Centre celebrates 50 years of service

Government has committed $ 10 million to acquire the land needed to finally extend Hambledon Road into Tallawong. This is the first concrete step to fixing the missing link, giving Tallawong residents the direct connection to Schofields Road they should have had years ago. For local families, this means less time stuck in traffic and more time together at home.
This investment is part of Labor’ s broader plan to build better roads for the North West. Together with the Federal Labor Government, we are funding upgrades that will make a real difference for our community: critical road infrastructure around the future Rouse Hill Hospital, upgrades along the
Richmond Road Corridor, the duplication and future connection of Townson Road and Burdekin Road in Schofields and long overdue upgrades to Bandon Road and Garfield Road East and West.
The North West has done its bit and had its fair share of housing growth. This $ 10 million investment is only the beginning, but it represents a decisive break from the inaction of the past.
I will keep working with Premier Chris Minns to ensure families across the North West get the roads and services they deserve.

Mount Druitt Community Health Centre is celebrating 50 years of service, marking a proud milestone in its history of delivering care and support to Western Sydney communities.
To honour half a century of service, staff recently hosted a community event that reflects on the centre’ s past achievements while highlighting its ongoing commitment to providing exceptional healthcare.
Often referred to as the polyclinic, the centre was the main medical hub in the area before Mount Druitt Hospital opened in 1982. From an infant’ s first checks at the antenatal clinic, through Child and Family Health, Youth Health and beyond, the centre has long played a vital role in improving the health and wellbeing of Mount Druitt residents and the wider Western Sydney Local Health District.
As the local community has grown and evolved, the centre has adapted to meet changing needs. Today, it provides a broad range of health services for people of all ages, including health promotion, prevention and early detection, assessment, treatment, and ongoing care.
It also delivers refugee and multicultural health programs,
supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities across Western Sydney. Visitors to the anniversary celebration enjoyed a variety of health and wellbeing stalls, hosted by local clinical services, offering information, support, and activities.
Edmond Atalla, Member for Mount Druitt, said,“ I’ m proud to be celebrating the Mount Druitt Community Health Centre’ s incredible milestone with the local community.
“ The community event was a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the resilience of our community, the dedication of healthcare workers, and the strong partnerships that have shaped the centre’ s impact over the past 50 years.”
Jasmin Ellis, WSLHD General Manager of Integrated Community Health, added,“ This celebration not only honours the centre’ s past achievements but also reinforces its ongoing mission to provide accessible, communitycentred healthcare to Mount Druitt and its surrounding areas.
“ We couldn’ t have achieved this milestone without the support and trust of the community, and we look forward to another fifty years of exceptional healthcare.”
