Public Education is the key to our children’ s future. The Minns Labor Government is committed to rebuilding public education in the North West- giving our children world class learning environments so they get the flying start they deserve. We are doing this by building more classrooms, hiring more teachers and
|
lifting student results across NSW. Locally, that means building brandnew public primary schools in Tallawong, Nirimba Fields and Grantham Farm, a brand-new public high school in Tallawong and upgrading Schofields Public School, The Ponds High School and Riverbank Public School.
We’ re also delivering two new fee-free public preschools in Nirimba Fields and Grantham Farm.
|
These fee-free public preschools will help bring down costs for families, improve access to early education and give our kids the best start in life.
Before we took office, 10,000 classes were being cancelled across NSW public schools each week and teachers were leaving the profession in droves.
Under the Minns Labor Government, teacher vacancies have fallen by 71 % across Riverstone. That means that our kids
|
are spending more time learning in class and receiving more attention from their teachers.
We did this by making over 16,000 temporary teachers and support staff permanent and increasing teachers’ pay to attract and retain our best and brightest.
Rebuilding our education system takes time, but I’ ll keep working with Premier Chris Minns to build better schools for our children.
