New university study hubs are on their way.
Backing education Rolling up the sleeves for this one, two new university study hubs are on the way for Mount Druitt!
Our government is funding the establishment of these hubs, designed to make it easier for uni students in our area to have a place to study and learn away from campus. It also plays a big part in helping students stay in uni.
When young people in our area finish school, I tell them: don’ t stop learning, go to TAFE or university and keep building your skills.
The Mount Druitt Ethnic Communities Agency( MECA) has been chosen to lead the setup of the hubs. I met with MECA’ s CEO, Daniel Gobena, to hear how things are progressing. I’ m looking forward to the hubs opening and unlocking great opportunities for students around Mount Druitt!
P. S. Thanks to Mayor Brad Bunting and Blacktown City Council for their support of this project.

Community heroes This was more than just an awards ceremony, it was a chance to hear how our local police step forward with care and courage to help people facing some of the toughest moments in their lives.
During the Blacktown, Mount Druitt and Riverstone Zone Police Awards, I heard story after story of incredible service. Some with uplifting endings, others that were really hard to hear.
It was truly an honour to present awards to some of our community’ s bravest.
But it was also an important opportunity to simply say thank you to every police officer who puts service above self, every single day.
