As we move into a new year , it ’ s a good time to reflect on the milestones and achievements that have shaped the last twelve months for the Riverstone electorate . From investments in critical infrastructure to celebrating the unsung heroes of our community , this year has been one of progress and promise for our growing region .
The Minns Labor Government has taken decisive steps to address longstanding issues in Riverstone , ensuring our community receives the attention it deserves . The Rouse Hill Hospital , set to start construction soon , marks a turning point in healthcare access for the North West Growth Area . This state-of-the-art facility will offer comprehensive services , but healthcare must go beyond buildings . Efforts to address GP shortages and advocate for federal support in bulk-billing rebates highlight the commitment to holistic , accessible healthcare for all .
Education remains a cornerstone of Riverstone ’ s future . An audit of enrolment trends revealed the challenges posed by the area ’ s rapid growth , with student numbers exceeding projections by decades . The Minns Labor Government is tackling this crisis with a historic $ 3.6 billion investment in schools statewide , including upgrades and new schools for Nirimba Fields , Tallawong , Box Hill , and Marsden Park . These initiatives underscore a commitment to equitable education for

every student . Transport connectivity has been another focal point . The extension of the North-West Metro has transformed travel across Sydney , but local challenges persist . Residents have expressed frustration over inadequate parking and connectivity at Tallawong Station . Efforts are underway to address these gaps , including improved bus services , advocacy for additional parking , and a business case to link the metro line with heavy rail at Schofields . This year also saw the Riverstone community come together in meaningful ways . The Community Cabinet offered residents a direct line to the NSW Premier and Cabinet Ministers , fostering dialogue on issues like road upgrades , transport , and town centre planning . Similarly , the Riverstone Youth Forum empowered young voices , highlighting their concerns about social connections , environmental health and the cost of living .
Celebrating local heroes has been a highlight of 2024 . Krianne Doherty , the Riverstone Local Woman of the Year , embodies community spirit through her dedication to the Schofields Rural Fire Brigade . Her story is a testament to the selflessness and resilience that define our community .
The need for community spaces has also been a recurring theme . As Riverstone continues to grow , the lack of parks and sporting facilities in northern areas has become evident . Advocacy for equitable access to active spaces ensures

that future generations will have the opportunities to thrive , both physically and mentally .
As the year ends , it is important to acknowledge these accomplishments while looking ahead with optimism . The challenges faced by our community are significant , but so too is the resolve to overcome them .

Together , we are building a stronger , healthier and more connected Riverstone .
My team and I wish everyone in Riverstone a very happy holiday season . May this time bring peace , togetherness and renewed hope for the year to come . Thank you for your support , and I look forward to continuing to serve this incredible community over the coming year .
