The theatre opened in 2019 and attracted the cream of entertainers to celebrate the occasion – Dame Edna , Keith Urban , Missy Higgins , David Campbell , John Butler Trio , and Amy Shark .

The GIG60 celebrations at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre kicks off with a bang , featuring performances by Marcia Hines , Baby Animals and Daryl Braithwaite who will wow the audience with his renditions of The Horses and You ’ re My World .
Headline acts on night two , country music night , are Troy Cassar-Daly , Brook McClymont , Adam Eckersley and Country Music ’ s 2024 New Talent of the Year , Max Jackson .
On stage to round off the three-night extravaganza will be 2024 Australian Idol winner , Dylan Wright , alternative Indie rock band , Middle Kids , and Indi folk band , Boy and Bear . All this great entertainment – it is almost too much to bear !

POSTSCRIPT : The club ’ s connection to the entertainment world is legendary . The late , great Bert Newtown was the MC at the official opening of the Sydney Opera House and of course in the audience was her majesty , Queen Elizabeth II .
During the charity concert , Newton raised his glass to the assembled guests and said : “ To all my friends at Rooty Hill RSL Club – this place would make a good annex to the RSL club ”. According to legend , the Queen , upon hearing this , inquired with a smile , “ Is there such a place ?”
