Knights in shining armour , a street parade and top musical talent are among the highlights of the newly announced program for the 2024 Blacktown City Festival . Blacktown City Council is providing a jam-packed schedule of free and ticketed events throughout May , featuring arts and culture , children ’ s activities , comedy , sport and much more .

The opening weekend includes the Super 6 Blacktown City Youth Games on Saturday 4 May and Sunday 5 May at Blacktown International Sportspark .

Young people can test their skills across six events for the chance to be crowned Super 6 Youth Games Champion . Some Festival highlights include :

• Vibes by the Lake . A perfect picnic opportunity with musicians performing and fine food available from food trucks . Sunday 5 May . Nurragingy Reserve , Doonside . Free entry .

• Blacktown City Medieval Fayre . Medieval pageantry and pomp that promises to amaze and delight . The jousting competitions and Birds of Prey Show are not to be missed . Saturday 18 May and Sunday 19 May . Nurragingy Reserve , Doonside .

• Sweet Indulgence Dessert Festival . Delicious chocolates , donuts , ice cream and fancy drinks will be on offer from Sydney ’ s top dessert makers . Thursday 23 May . The Village Green , Flushcombe Rd , Blacktown . Free entry .

• Streets Alive and Parade Day . Blacktown will come alive as the parade thrills and entertains . Street performers , free rides and markets are all part of the fun . Saturday 25 May . Blacktown CBD . Free entry .

• Reconciliation Walk and Gathering . This annual fixture offers the chance to learn moreabout our Indigenous Australians through stage performances , cultural workshops and more . Saturday 1 June . Dawson Mall , Mount Druitt . Free entry .
