Students in Mt Druitt kick off the 2023 HSC exams
Nine hundred and eighty two Mount Druitt HSC students began their 2023 HSC exams in October , starting with English Paper 1 , before finishing with Food Technology on November 3 .
The HSC Class of 2023 have been working hard to get to this point and Mount Druitt students deserve to feel proud of all that they have already achieved , Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car said .
Member for Mount Druitt , Edmond Atalla said they hoped all local students would enter the exam rooms with a sense of achievement and confidence .
“ Each student has done the hard work leading up to this point , and now is the time for students to show what they know ,” Mr Atalla said .
“ Our community here in Mount Druitt is behind each and every student as they take on this final chapter of their 13-year schooling .

Underestimating the importance of teaching teachers
World Teacher ’ s Day took place on 27 October . It ’ s a day designed to acknowledge and celebrate teachers for their work in inspiring , educating , and supporting .
With everything that our teachers do , it ’ s easy to take them for granted . Teachers are there for their students through their most pivotal moments , and they invest so much into being a reliable source of support .
The impact a teacher can have on a child ’ s life is phenomenal ; they work to mould a child holistically by nurturing passions , encouraging healthy behaviours , and educating young minds to enter the world ready to take on whatever comes their way .
As capable as our teachers are , nurturing and supporting teachers is just as important as doing the same for students . At Mountain View Adventist College , we are dedicated to giving teachers the room they need to grow . Rontania Jensen , Director of Teacher & Learning , is dedicated to empowering teachers to be more confident in their abilities .
“ I ’ ve been a teacher for 18 years , and nothing will ever quite compare to seeing a child become the adult that as a teacher , I envision them to be ,” Rontania said .

to this critical point , and today they can feel proud as they kick off their written exams .”
The HSC is a large operation that sees close to 70,000 HSC students sit exams over an 18-day period .
Another 8,150 students studying one or more HSC courses also sat exams during October and most of these students are not yet in Year 12 .
It means that in NSW around 77,000 students will sit a total of 400,000 unique exam sessions .
Students are set to receive their HSC results and ATARs on Thursday 14 December .
