Update on our campaign : Emergency Department at Rouse Hill Hospital

Recently , the NSW Government announced there will be a new hospital in North-West Sydney .
As our population in this region is growing exponentially , with areas like Riverstone expected to triple in numbers by 2040 , this was welcome news for our community , as we need more health infrastructure like this to support our booming region .
However , there was one issue — the plans for the hospital didn ’ t include an Emergency Department ( ED ).
This prompted many of us in North- West Sydney to ask , “ how can you have a hospital without an Emergency Department ?”
What ’ s more , hospitals are becoming increasingly overwhelmed due to the pandemic , meaning now , more than ever , we need this emergency infrastructure .
This prompted our community , here in Greenway , to initiate a campaign for an Emergency Department at Rouse Hill Hospital .
After months and months of campaigning , and over 2,500 petition signatures later , the NSW Liberals finally agreed to our request — a great win for North-West Sydney .
On April 13th , I requested more information from the NSW Government as to what the ED will look like , to which
I have still received no response , over two months later . This is not good enough . The people of Western Sydney are fed up with this long-standing tradition of neglect and tricky Liberal games .
We deserve to understand what the Emergency Department will look like , including what the envisaged capacity of the unit is , how many staff are expected to operate it , how many beds it will contain , and the expected functions and capabilities .
Simply , we deserve transparency on this vital piece of infrastructure .
As I have always said , I will not stop fighting for this Emergency Department until it is built and delivered in a way that reflects the evolving needs of our growing North-West Sydney community .

I WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING FOR THIS EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT UNTIL IT IS BUILT AND DELIVERED IN A WAY THAT REFLECTS THE EVOLVING NEEDS OF OUR GROWING NORTH-WEST SYDNEY COMMUNITY .
