Aspire4u becomes an affiliated member of OBU
About Aspire4u CIC
Aspire4u Community Interest Company is based in Digbeth Birmingham and is an events management
and youth training social enterprise. The organisation was founded by social entrepreneur Daniella Genas
in an effort to increase the life chances of young people from disadvantage backgrounds.
The organisation provides event management services specifically for awards, launches and networking
events and uses the profits to provide training, showcasing and development opportunities for 17 – 25
year olds. The organisation coordinates a range of exciting and innovative projects for young people.
Projects have included NYAM Jamaican Food and Culture Project which began in 2010 with the aim of
instilling cultural pride and raising cultural awareness. The project included cookery classes, producing a
documentary, oral history CD and recipe book and a number of community events.
In 2010 Aspire4u also began the STEM programme (Study and Train in Event Management)
providing practical and theoretical training to unemployed youth in Birmingham. Thus far over
100 young people have been through the programme many of whom are now in full time
employment or education or have set up their own enterprises.
Aspire4u has also ran the successful Project Talent UK programme for a number of years. Project
Talent UK provides workshops and master-classes in the performing arts and fashion for young
people across the city. Participants take part in a live showcase to win industry prizes. Previous
winners have walked in London Fashion Week, Performed at the LG Arena, received professional
photo shoots from international photographer Bandele Zuberi, been featured in Style
Birmingham magazine and much more.
In 2013 – 2014 Aspire4u is committed to continuing to make a difference in the lives of Birmingham youth. In order to achieve this they are
focusing on generating more income through the event management side of the organisation. Services include event management, filming and
photography, event staffing and also production of event marketing materials. Aspire4u have coordinated a wide range of events most notably
the Music Video and Screen Awards 2010, 2011 and 2012, Birmingham Made Me Design Awards 2012 and 2013, Millennium Point Brand Launch
2013.
With the CEO Daniella Genas at the helm Aspire4u is hoping to achieve great things in the coming years.
