My daughter is 3 years old and my wife recently gave birth to our son Rhys on July 4, 2017. I also have a 15 year old bonus son. I home school our daughter full time and I have resided in the UAE for almost 5 years. My wife is an Art teacher and it affords me the time necessary to give my child a quality education at her own pace.

Prior to becoming an expat, I worked in the horse racing industry and was laid off. Within 6 months, my wife was unemployed. She eventually accepted a position as an Art teacher abroad.

The opportunity we have to immerse ourselves in another culture is both edifying and advantageous as we aim to raise our children as citizens of the world.

Beyond that, we live in one of the safest environments. Our motivation is to save to provide the best future possible for our children, even at the expense of being far away from extended family.

It has been a blessing to transition from being a school administrator without a passport to an international school leader whose entire family not only has passports , but are frequent travelers. Being able to provide such a culturally rich and diverse experience for my children (Ameerah 11, Garran 8) has been amazing. They now view the world through a broader lens in contrast to how the American media sometimes portrays other countries outside of the west. We have been able to dispel many stereotypes that people from other countries have of Black Americans in terms of intellect, professionalism, and equality.

Our goal is to continue to immerse ourselves in global opportunities and experiences, while creating life-changing memories.
