2 . How long has your business been running for ? Flow Communications has been going for 20 years next year .
3 . What motivated you to start your own business ? I didn ’ t have a job and needed to make some income !
4 . What steps did you take to get you going ? I registered a business and started looking desperately for work .
5 . What would you say is the most effective way to raise awareness of your business and bring in new clients ? Word-of-mouth marketing is the best kind . If you do a good job and others speak well of you and refer you to others , you ’ re doing something right !
6 . What challenges did you face in your business and how did you overcome them ? We didn ’ t have enough clients and business in the beginning . We did some work for free , just to build a track record . And we made a presentation about ourselves and went round to friends and family to see if there was anything we could do for anyone .
7 . Do you have habits / things that you do that set you up for success ? We look for work that is inspiring , and is about changing the world for the better in some way , not just ( or even ) about making money . When there is a deep sense of purpose in your work , it is easier for everyone to be passionate about it .
