I want to remind you of two special things here:

Regarding the increasing prices of petrol and diesel, our finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman has said that it is not in their hands to control the prices of oil ( because these prices are determined by the companies that are spread across the world).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signed an agreement regarding the privatisation of agricultural production sector and other essential commodities like water.

In the coming future our government might go on to say that controlling the increasing prices of food and other essential commodities is not in their hands; so what will we eat then and where will we all go?

By merely saying self sufficient can an entire country actually become one? Or it is important that the government helps and actually makes an effort to make the country independent?

How will the country protect its existence and foundational basis if the production of the basic and necessary commodities is privatised?

According to a story published in a magazine named ‘News Week’, it's not just the poor countries, but the middle-class people of many other developing countries as well who are troubled by the increasing prices of the food grains.

In the last one year in Italy, the prices of pizza have increased by a whopping 20%, , which has caused a cut in the sale of pizza by 2.6% and a decrease of 6% in the sale of bread.

There has been an increase of 30% in the prices of products that are made from food grains in the European countries. According to a study, this year America will have to distribute food amongst 2.8 crore people from the government's side. In comparison to the surveys of the previous years, this number has stooped up by 15lakh. The cost of providing food assistance is at an increase which is simultaneously increasing America’s worry .

Raj Patel further writes that in an American supermarket, a sachet of coffee costs five dollars, which is related to the starvation that's spread in Africa. The poor farmers of Africa who grow coffee by working day and night, get a very low price for the same because of their decreased ability to ask for the desired price in a transaction( they don't even possess a good storage capacity).

American companies purchase this coffee from the poor African farmers at a low cost and sell it later in their supermarkets after processing it, at a much higher rate. And the profit that's yielded from this business is ultimately distributed amongst the shareholders of the company. The manner in which a food emergency is being created in the world today, we should feel more angry instead of feeling guilty. All of us should feel angry because the system through which the poor community is being manipulated, we all are also unconsciously becoming a part of this corrupt system.
