There is no need to fear the new Corona strain detected in Britain
The pharmaceutical companies are now worried that millions of their vaccine doses will go waste leading to huge financial losses. To prevent loss, companies have now started spreading lie.
Vested interests and media, both national and international, are often known to run half truth as far as public interest is concerned, which can be more detrimental than straight lies. The whole world went into a frenzy following the detection of a new strain of Corona virus in Britain. It was because the media ran a news report saying that this new virus can spread 70% faster than the present SARS CoV-2.
Countries around the world have banned flights from Britain, which has stranded lakhs of students and employees of various nationalities there. The British government has prohibited all Christmas celebrations and imposed a lockdown once again. As the new strain of this virus has also been noticed in other European countries, there is an atmosphere of fear everywhere.
When one reads the news carefully, one notices that the fear of the virus spreading faster is not based on any lab tests, but rather on computer models. The predictions made by scientist Neil Ferguson of the Imperial College about the destructiveness of Covid-19 have been proven completely wrong. As per Ferguson’s computer model, around five lakh people in Britain were at the risk of death. But in the last nine months, only 67,000 people have died here, wherein deaths by cardiac arrest, kidney problems and neuro problems have also been added to the same list. In reality, not more than 5,000 people have died due to Corona. A lockdown has been imposed once again based on unscientific findings of the computer model. This will only spread fear and destroy Britain’s economy.
Our one year experience with the novel SARS CoV-2 virus makes it clear that it hasn’t led to so much destruction as speedily as it spread around the world. In medical parlance, its fatality rate is lower than its transmission power. As per government reports, in India it has infected only one crore people out of a total population of 1.38 billion. 90% of these have been asymptomatic patients. If we put these 90 lakh people aside, only 10 lakh people in India have shown the symptoms of the Corona virus. The symptoms are no graver than common cold, cough and asthma. Scientists in Britain say that the fatality rate of the new strain of the Corona virus detected there is even less than the present Corona virus. If the novel Corona virus could not lead to destruction in India or around the world, what major harm can this new strain do?
