About Rajiv Dixit
Rajiv Dixit founded the "Azadi Bachao Andolan" (Save Freedom Movement) in the early 1990s as a campaign to protect Indian industries, at a time when multi-national corporations were increasing their presence in India as part of a trend towards globalisation. An aide to Ramdev, Dixit served as the national secretary of Ramdev's anti-corruption organisation “Bharat Swabhiman Andolan.”
Achievements :
1) In 1986 the team started boycott campaign against Union Carbide of America. Success was achieved when in 1991 when this company had left Bharat.
2) From 1986 to 1994 stopped the Government of India from signing GATT Agreement
3) A very successful fight against PEPSI-COLA & COCA-COLA in 1997. In this fight it was proved scientifically that Pepsi & Coke are a slow poison.
4) In 1994 we a successful fight against a Liquor Company of America (TIZARA) which finally led to the company leaving India.
5) Since 1997 trying to promote Swadeshi products in place of Foreign products.
6) Fought against the misleading advertisements of Foreign Companies. 70 cases were filed in different Courts against UNI-LEVER, COLGATE-PALMOLIVE, PROCTOR & GAMBLE, JOHNSON & JOHNSON etc.
7) Since 2000 promoting organic farming in 13 States
8) Since 2002 trying to generate employment in rural areas. Motivating unemployed youths to start Small Scale Units of making BATH SOAPS, DETERGENT POWDER, DANT-MANJAN, ORGANIC SHAMPOO & some 40 other products. Trying to produce KHADI in villages where Cotton is available.
