Diabetes mellitus

DM is one of the most common endocrine diseases.

It is also a chronic metabolic disorder in which the body cannot metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins because of a lack of or ineffective use of the hormone insulin.

The basic defect is in utilization of glucose by the body

Increase Blood glucose level due to

Decrease in Production of insulin or due to Insulin resistance

(Insulin normally increase the permeability of body’s cells and allows glucose the end product of carbohydrate metabolic to enter the body‘s cells, where it is used as feel for the production of energy /ATP).

Classification of Diabetes mellitus: -

1. Type – 1 DM

2. Type – 2 DM

3. Gestational DM

4. Other types

1. Genetic defects of B – cell

2. Genetic defects in insulin action

3. Diseases of the exocrine pancreas

4. Genetic syndromes associated with diabetes

Diet Plan

Early Morning: 1 – 2 glass of worm water to tack very slowly 1 by 1 sip (like morning tea)

(7:00 a.m.)

Amla water Or Methi water Or

Lady‘s finger water Or

Herbal tea (tulsi patta + ajma + green tea patta + jira + adrak + fudina) + honey + lemon drops (take very slowly)

Breakfast: - Any fresh Fruits (take small pics / juice) Or

Green gram water + green gram Or

Saragva + dhudhi + green gram = soup

at 10:30 --- 1 coconut water must

Lunch: - light cooked

(12:30 /1:00 p.m.)

1 dish tomato salad + 1 dish sabji + chaval (rice) /Moriya +javar roti/bajra roti / ragi roti / kang roti / jav roti)

+ Chatani

Snack: - any alkaline juice / palak patta + tender coconut water Or

Gajar + bit juice Or Mungfali(shingdana) + tal+ rajka Na bi ka ankurit salad Or

Dalia

Dinner: - Soup of mix veg

(Before 8 p.m.) Or

Daliya with mix veg Or

Khichdi (Rice / bajra / fada wheat/ kodo rice / moriyo etc.) Or

Upma (kodo rice / rava / Moriya) Or

Poha Or

pulav (rice / kodo rice ) etc.
