B&CMA 91st Annual Technical Conference:
all you need to know about biscuit production
T
he Biscuit and Crackers Manufacturers’ Association Annual
Technical Conference 2016
(BCMATECH), held in spring, is
the largest conference solely for the cookie and cracker industry intended for
professionals from all areas of the bakery
sector and suppliers to the industry.
This year, the conference took place May 14, in Atlanta, Georgia, US, and featured a
general session covering the yearly outlook
regarding the state of the industry and
breakout sessions focusing on production,
technology, management and sustainability issues. Topics and sessions addressed
core technological subject matters and
prominent consumer issues - essential information for industry professionals.
The B&CMA offered a new interactive
breakout session where participants attended a presentation and then had the
opportunity to complete hands-on experiments related to the subject matter.

than 800 employees that demonstrated
an outstanding commitment and dedication to employee safety and excellence in achieving a DART incidence rate
of 0.160 for the year 2015:

BAKERY, Augusta, Georgia.
The Safety Awards Program was established
in an effort to raise awareness of the
importance of safety in the workplace. The
safety awards recognize those member
bakeries that demonstrated a healthy and
safe work environment. The Chairman’s
Award for Safety Excellence represents the
best overall record among member bakeries and is structured so each member’s
individual plant competes against other
plants of a similar size. The award is presented to the bakeries with the best or (the
least) DART incidence rate. These awards are
presented at the opening General Session.
