DR KAS SUBRAMAIUM JOINS SYNGENE INTERNATIONAL
Having headed the R & D division earlier at the Strand Life Sciences, Dr Kalyanasundaram Subramanian will now spearhead the bioinformatics initiative at Biocon ' s sister concern, Syngene International.
He was until recently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer at Strand Life Sciences. Popularly known as ' Kas ', he lead Strand ' s scientific and technical programs and coordinated the cross-divisional efforts in R & D.
Breaking this news, Dr Subramanian in his post on LinkedIn mentioned, " I am looking forward to growing this business within Syngene as well as providing integrated drug discovery and development services using Syngene ' s amazing capabilities across drug development."
An IIT- Bombay alumnus, Dr Subramanian went on to complete his MS in Chemical Engineering from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Equipped with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Kas took up the position of Senior Scientist at Genetic Therapy Inc( Novartis) between 1997-2000, where he helped set-up a group to perform research in synthetic and hybrid vectors for gene delivery. Prior to Strand, he headed the Collaborative R & D group for immunology products at Entelos.
ANUP DHINGRA APPOINTED GSK ' S SUPPLY CHAIN LEAD FOR INDIAN SUB-CONTINENT
GSK Consumer Healthcare has announced the appointment of Anup Dhingra as the Supply Chain Lead, Indian Sub-Continent. With over 27 years of in-depth experience, Mr Anup
Dhingra will spearhead the Indian initiatives of GSK while being based out of its Gurgaon office. He succeeds Jaiboy Phillips, who has retired after 4 years with the company.
Anup who holds a B. Tech( Gold Medalist) from GB Pant University, Nainital joins GSK from Reckitt Benckiser where he was Supply Director Poland and was responsible for the company ' s largest operations globally.
Announcing the changes, Manoj Kumar, Managing Director, GSK Consumer Healthcare, said“ Anup brings in 27 years of in-depth experience and exceptional knowledge of the industry. I am delighted to welcome him and confident that under his leadership we will continue to deliver the best for our customers.”

MADAN KRISHNAN IS THE NEW VICE PRESIDENT AT MEDTRONIC INDIA

He also led the post-acquisition integration of Medtronic and Covidien across Asia Pacific.
KEDAR UPADHYE JOINS CIPLA AS GLOBAL CFO
Cipla announced the appointment of Mr Kedar Upadhye as the global
Chief Financial Officer( CFO) of Cipla, effective August 1, 2016. With Mr Upadhye ' s has replaced Mr Umang Vohra who will continue to be the global Chief Operating Officer( COO).
Mr Upadhye is a qualified cost accountant with a follow-on MBA from IIM Bangalore. He brings with him deep experience of the global generics business. Until recently, he was Vice President of global generics finance and head of investor relations at Dr Reddy ' s. Prior to that, he worked with Pepsi India and Thermax Group.
