Dr Nachiket Mor joins the board of Sukoon Healthcare
Sukoon Healthcare , India ’ s leading inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facility , has inducted Dr Nachiket Mor as an Independent Director on its board . Dr Nachiket Mor is leader in health systems design & policy and recently supported the Govt of Meghalaya as part of its Mental Health Policy Drafting Subcommittee . He is also currently a Commissioner on the Lancet Citizen ’ s Commission on Reimagining India ’ s Health System . He was previously the India Country Director for Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and has also served as a member of the Planning Commission ’ s High-Level Expert Group on Universal Healthcare . Board of directors of the Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) and is widely credited with leading the financial inclusion movement in India . Highlighting the urgent need for in-patient psychiatric care infrastructure in India , Dr . Nachiket Mor , Board Director , Sukoon , said , “ While the incidence or population impacted by severe mental health disorders could be considered low – 0.3 % for schizophrenia and 0.6 % for bipolar disorder – the burden of the disease is quite high , further exacerbated by the inheritability of these conditions .”
Dr Renu Swarup becomes a member of Global Advisory Board of Bugworks Research
Bugworks Research , a clinicalstage biopharmaceutical company , has engaged Dr Renu Swarup as an honorary member of the Global Advisory Board . Dr Swarup is the former Secretary , Department of Biotechnology , Government of India and brings in more than three decades of experience in the biotech sector . As the Member Secretary of the Expert Committee , Dr . Swarup oversaw the formulation of Biotechnology Vision in 2001 , National Biotechnology Development Strategy in 2007 and Strategy II , 2015-20 . She was the Founding Managing Director , Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council ( BIRAC ), a Public Sector Company with special focus on supporting Start-ups and SMEs . By strengthening biotechnology translational research and industryacademia partnerships , she has supported more than 5000 Start-ups and nearly 500 small companies to pursue innovative research and product development . She is a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences , India ( NASI ). She has actively supported women scientists as a member of the Prime Minister ’ s Scientific Advisory Committee ’ s task force on women in science and is part of The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World .
