Startups deserve empathy, much more than just cash and some pep talk!

Few days back while attending a startup focussed event at a reputed institute in Delhi, I found few pretending gentlemen( would rather prefer to call them intellectual hooligans) giggling and mocking at a presentation by one of entrepreneurs. They thought the idea was just not sellable. The fault doesn’ t completely lie with them only. Most of us judge others from a narrow prism of what is the revenue and how much is the gain. The background and hard work behind the idea and journey are hardly of much value. Unfortunately, the bitter truth is that the empathy is missing!
Those who understand the sector well feel that the latest breed of young entrepreneurs is smart enough than few at bureaucracy might imagine. They are conscious of what they aim to do and no amount of pseudo-mentoring will make them happy unless it matters to their overall goals.
At the same time, just the decision to turn entrepreneur doesn’ t guarantee the success. The entire journey of pushes and pulls are known only to those who ride the rope. While the policies by the government to promote startup culture have changed for good, the feedback system is not quite up to date. The entrepreneur is asking not only for some support but also a system where he or she can put the suggestions that don’ t get trashed but accommodated.
On a positive note, there is no denying that the confidence level among students and professionals to turn into entrepreneurs is far greater now. We at BioVoice News are trying to bring to fore the fresh faces, their background, struggles and ambitions. Hence, we are inviting suggestions and stories from the young bioscience startups.
