BioVoice News June 2017 Issue 1 Volume 2 | Página 7

editor’s note Miles to go! On the first anniversary of the BioVoice Magazine, I would like to quote the famous poet and author, Robert Frost who said ‘The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.’ And yes, we have miles to go before we lay claims to glory. More than a year and half ago, we embarked on a journey to bring a paradigm shift in the news reportage within the bioscience sector. While the PetriDish Media celebrated its 1st foundation day in December 2016, the BioVoice News completed the first year of operations during February 2017. For the BioVoice Magazine that started its journey in May 2016, it is not merely a year of completion but unforgettable experiences, a mix of struggles, challenges, learning experiences and sweet successes even though in a small way. More importantly, the positively overwhelming response of the readers and those who matter. So, here we continue our journey, recording and communicating in the achievements and challenges, analyzing the twists and turns as our duty. The only ideology that works here is that it is the news that matters most and nothing else. The 1st anniversary special edition of Biovoice includes the cover story, ‘The Milestones’ that looks at the various top trends, technologies, and achievements in the bioscience sector. The ‘BioChat’ has Mr Harald Nusser, Head of Novartis Social Business talking about the social responsibility program of Novartis and its commitment to increase access to healthcare. Prof Peter Hodgson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Research, Deakin University and Dr Alok Adholeya, Honorary Professor and Director, TERI Deakin Nano Biotechnology Centre (TDNBC), share their insights into the vision behind the Indo- Australian Collaboration. The special story features an analysis on genetically modified mustard which is currently standing at the crossroads of either making history or fading into oblivion. Our new section, the ‘Special Startup Series’ has received overwhelming response. This edition too features two fresh startup stories with health technologies for masses. Much more to explore in this edition. As always, we would like to thank all our readers and well-wishers! We always welcome you to share your struggles, concerns, stories with us.
