NPPA HOLDS DISCUSSION WITH PHARMA BODIES ON
GST IMPLEMENTATION
National Pharmaceutical
Pricing Authority (NPPA),
the national drug pricing
regulator recently met several
pharma sector associations
to decide the way ahead
after the Goods and Service
Tax (GST) implementation
scheduled on July 1, 2017. As
per the regulator, the aim of these meetings was to discuss a
range of issues related to the sector as well as to ensure an
uninterrupted supply of the drugs across India.
“NPPA holds fruitful discussions with industry and trade
associations to ensure uninterrupted supply of drugs
on the implementation of GST,” revealed the National
Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on a microblogging
website, Twitter.
The top associations that held deliberations with the
NPPA included Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA), All
India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD),
Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI),
and Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA).
