Goa launches first agriculture drone under Drone Didi Initiative
Shrimp export volume growth to be flattish this fiscal due to tariffs
Indian shrimp exporters will see a marginal 2-3 % uptick in revenues this fiscal on improved realisations stemming from rising prices and currency gains. However, export volumes will be flat because of higher tariffs expected to be imposed by the US and subdued demand in key importer nations as sluggish economic growth affects disposable incomes. An analysis of 63 shrimp exporters rated by Crisil Ratings, accounting for ~ 55 % of the industry revenues, indicates as much.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant launched the Goa’ s first agriculture drone and announcing Drone Didi initiative in Goa. Dr Sawant also inaugurated the Kharif Mechanised Sowing of Paddy 2025. Goa’ s comprehensive agricultural policy framework— encompassing schemes such as Kisan Credit Card( KCC), PM-KUSUM, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, and the recently introduced Goa State Amritkal Agricultural Policy 2025.
New Center of Excellence launched to drive agricultural transformation
In a landmark move to accelerate agricultural innovation and collaboration across the Global South, the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics( ICRISAT), in partnership with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries( RIS), officially launched the ICRISAT Center of Excellence for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture( ISSCA) during the Conference on Global South and Triangular Cooperation: Emerging Facets.
