vaccines were developed and produced adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality.“ Patient safety and product quality have always been top priorities throughout the development and manufacturing of COVID-19 vaccines in India,” he said.“ All vaccines received Emergency Use Authorization in line with WHO guidelines, based on rigorous preclinical and clinical evaluations demonstrating strong safety, efficacy, and immune response.”
Dr. Harshavardhan emphasized that every batch of COVID-19 vaccines underwent stringent safety testing by manufacturers and received Batch Release Certification from the Central Drugs Laboratory( CDL), Kasauli, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Highlighting India’ s strengths in innovation and large-scale, high-quality manufacturing, he credited Indian-made vaccines for playing a critical role in controlling the pandemic, saving lives, protecting livelihoods, and driving India’ s economic recovery.“ This positive impact extended globally through the Government of India’ s Vaccine Maitri initiative, which enabled vaccine access to many countries,” he added.“ We strongly reassure the public of the proven safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.”
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chairperson, Biocon Limited in a post on X stated. " COVID-19 vaccines developed in India were approved under the Emergency Use Authorisation framework, following rigorous protocols aligned with global standards for safety and efficacy. To suggest that these vaccines were‘ hastily’ approved is factually incorrect and contributes to public misinformation. These vaccines have saved millions of lives and, like all vaccines, may cause side effects in a very small number of individuals. It is important to acknowledge the science and data-driven processes behind their development, rather than engage in retrospective blame.

In his byte to the news agency, ANI, Dr Mohit Gupta, Professor of Cardiology, GB Pant Hospital says, " In our own study on 1,600 patients with heart attacks who had received the COVID vaccine and those who had not received it. We found that those who have received the COVID vaccine not only have lower chances of having a heart attack, all-cause mortality and sudden deaths, but also, following them for 30 days and 6 months, the chances of death of those people are significantly reduced. The COVID-19 vaccine is harmless and also plays a protective role. This study is not only ours; ICMR has also validated this... In our study, we took both the COVID vaccines and similar results were shown for both the Covaxin and Covishield.
Dr Shripad, Senior Consultant Cardiology Paras Health, Kanpur stated,“ In clinical observations, post-COVID infection has been seen as a possible factor in heart stress for at-risk individuals. However, recent studies by ICMR and NCDC have shown that COVID-19 vaccines do not cause sudden cardiac deaths. This distinction is important. The virus may cause heart problems in some cases, but the vaccines designed to prevent it have been proven safe and effective. Sudden heart events are mostly connected to pre-existing
