The radiation therapy sector has seen notable growth in the recent years . This is attributed to the rising cancer incidence , the growing awareness amongst the population , the adoption of advanced treatment technology , the proliferation of facilities in tier 2 and 3 markets and the support from the given in the form of policies and initiatives .
The external beam radiation therapy segment dominates the market , with linear accelerators ( linacs ) being the most widely used device followed by Brachytherapy . In this environment , Elekta is a leading player , driving adoption across the globe and increasing the number of people who have access to radiation therapy . Elekta performed well in 2023 , with several developments and achievements in the field of cancer treatment , globally and in India .
