editor’s note
Robust human resource pipeline critical for good
health of bioscience sector!
Recently, the BioVoice News conducted a four month long online student
perception survey about the Indian biotechnology sector. The idea was to
simply understand the ground level experiences of biotech students and
how they perceive the sector etc. The questions that were put to them were
basic in nature and the reason to do so was to go deeper and get an honest
feedback.
The results from the survey though not shocking for us, do had some element
of unexpected outcomes. It was clear that
majority of students love their subject but
are at the same time, not satisfied with
the kind of opportunities or career growth
as compared to other sectors. We tried
our best to reach out to the concerned
nodal agencies to submit the report
but unfortunately didn’t receive a reply.
Perhaps, the officials deemed it as not of
any importance at all. Nevertheless ,we
did our job and hope they will take this as
a realistic picture and not as a criticism
in any manner. Our August issue’s ‘Cover
Story’ features the detailed, must read outcome of the student survey.
Let’s keep their great work alive and make Indian science reach its glories.
We always welcome you to share your struggles, concerns, stories with us. You
