ChatGPT opens up endless possibilities

The artificial intelligence driven bots are the flavor of the season . Yes , we are talking about the ChatGPT , a chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022 . It is said to be capable of mirroring intuitive human conversation . In healthcare , ChatGPT is a major topic of conversation among providers and patients alike . This innovation has the potential to automate daily tasks like generating patient records or writing reports . From clinical decision making and drug discovery to diagnostics and even pharma marketing , there is a growing buzz around the possible utilization of ChatGPT . While still in the early stages of development and use , it is projected to feature diagnostic and treatment use in the future . In the era of digital transformation , such emerging digital technologies appear to be just a tip of an iceberg . The rapidly evolving dynamics in the segment suggest that there is a lot to come that might look unimaginable at the moment . Talking PCR machines , automatic chromatographic solutions , self diagnostics medical digital kits , and what not . The possibilities in agriculture too are unending .
At the same time , just like any other new technology , ChatGPT too has its set of challenges . Data protection and privacy is just one apart from few others such as regulatory compliance and potential of misuse in terms of spreading disinformation . I believe that irrespective of the benefits that come with it , the checks and balances are very important . Retaining the human touch means we are in control and not the other way round . In a country like India where millions of human resources are looking for jobs , we have to tread cautiously .
In this current edition , we are focusing on the feasibility of achieving the ambitious US $ 300 billion bioecomomy target by 2030 . The Covid-19 has expanded horizons of the vaccine industry and the allied segments , inspiring the industry and policymakers to revisit the earlier goal . Sharing her insights on the topic is none other than Dr Renu Swarup , Former Secretary , Department of Biotechnology who spent decades in formulating the biotech policies . We also feature interviews with prominent personalities in biotech and healthcare space . The tech oriented stories in agriculture are a must read .
Our team continue to strive for excellence and we are open to new suggestions or creative ideas . We look forward to your collaboration and support .
Have a great month and year ahead ! Yours ’ truly R A H U L K O U L
