The launch event for the NIHR Global Health Research Centre on NCDs and Environmental Change was held on 17 November 2022 in New Delhi , with presentations by the NIHR policy talks , multi-sectoral panel discussions and research presentations , bringing together researchers , funders community representatives , public health practitioners , policymakers and thought leaders to introduce the Centre ’ s mission . As per Professor Vivekanand Jha , co-lead of the Centre and Executive Director of The George Institute for Global Health , India , “ Our Centre will focus on three major challenges at the interface of NCDs and environmental change – air pollution , water salinity and food systems and generate actionable evidence for improving health outcomes and reducing inequities in a costeffective manner .”
SWEDISH MEDTECH MAJOR C-RAD SETS UP INDIA EXPERIENCE CENTER FOR PRECISION RADIOTHERAPY
Swedish med-tech company C-RAD , the global leader in surface guided radiation therapy ( SGRT ) solutions , has established its first-ever Experience Center in India at Faridabad in Delhi-NCR . Set up as a joint project with its India partner Marrsis Disha , the facility will train and upskill clinical professionals in precision radiotherapy . The Experience Center is equipped with C-RAD Catalyst + HD system with complete software suite , including modules for respiratory gating , patient setup and positioning , and motion monitoring . In his comments , Tim Thurn , CEO , C-RAD said , “ Our objective is to create awareness about the importance of accurate patient positioning in advanced radiation therapy . New treatment techniques offer huge potential to give access to stateof-the-art radiation therapy to a larger group of patients and improve the curative effect of treatment while reducing sideeffects .”
