Bengaluru to have first multi-faceted AI centre
Bengaluru will house the country’s first multi-faceted
artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics centre to tap the
potential of data analytics, an emerging technology, for
various eco-systems in the state. The centre will come up
at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)
campus in Bengaluru and the state government has
earmarked an initial grant of Rs 5 crore for the purpose.
The centre is being established on the

At the same time, the state government intends to
formulate a policy for hi-tech and frontier industries
like 3D printing, robotics, nano technology, big
data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine
learning, stem cell research, bespoke DNA medicine
among others.
The Defence Research and Development
Organisation (DRDO) has been running the Centre for
Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) since 1986
