BIOM 1350 - Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging System

Diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems. Covers basic systems troubleshooting and problem solving.

BIOM 2333 - Digital Radiography

General principles of digital radiography systems. Fundamentals of problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis of image quality are emphasized.

BIOM 2345 - Advanced Imaging Systems

Principles of operation and repair of computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission computerized tomography, and other advanced imaging modalities.

BIOM 2347 - RF/X-Ray System

Principles of radiographic and fluoroscopic systems.

Medical Imaging, in today's healthcare system, is a critical life saving diagnostic tool to help identify lesions, tumors, broken bones, dental cavities, and the list goes on.

One thing we know, is that the entire medical technology field is advancing following the computer industry. While the science that is the foundation for these technologies makes steady new discoveries, the technology that supports imaging is making leaps and bounds. Radiology Equipment Specialist must know both.

At SPC-BMET, Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) program, we are collaborating with our education partners in radiology and sonography as well as our local industry to provide a radiology equipment technician that is trainable to support their organizations vision and mission.

If you are able to do so, please review the abstracts or introductions to our required textbooks for some of our courses and see if you are interested.
