PRE-PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION
To major in biology is to major in the study of life itself. It’s also perfect
preparation for graduate school, medical school, and a wide array of careers in
the sciences. GMercyU’s biology program offers small classes, state-of-the-art
laboratory facilities, and many opportunities to conduct and present original
research.
Program Highlights
• Gain internship experience at companies like Johnson & Johnson and Novartis or
research hospitals, such as the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)
• Prepare for your future, whether that be in any number of graduate programs
in the sciences or science-related fields, employment, or application to a
professional doctoral program (medical, dental, veterinary, or other doctoral
health profession)
• Earn a minor in chemistry along with your biology degree
• Conduct research under the mentorship of experienced faculty with opportunities
to present and publish your work
