The Biogen Half Marathon Presented by Momentum Multiply and the Smecta 5km Dash is taking place on 12 January 2025 and will celebrate the 23rd anniversary of this Gauteng ’ s premier half marathon , hosted by the athletics section of the Bedfordview Country Club .
T
he event once again takes place at the bottom fields of the Bedfordview Country Club . Runners can look forward to a challenging route winding its way through the hills of Bedfordview , Morninghill and Primrose , the perfect kickstart to the running calendar in 2025 . There have been slight route changes in Primrose to cut out a road closure and road works .

START TIME : 6am in Riley Road ( seeded )
REFRESHMENTS : Six water tables ( spaced approximately 3km apart )
CUT-OFF TIME : Race start in Riley Road at 06:00am on 12 January 2025 . Race Start cut-off is 06:15am and the Race cut-off is 09:30am . The official cut-off time is 9h30 , whereafter all marshals & officials will be withdrawn from the course . There will be a sweep vehicle to return you to the finish area however if you do not want to use the sweep vehicle you will need to surrender your race number .
PARKING : ARRIVE EARLY | FROM 4AM There are 4 allocated parking areas – please refrain from parking illegally in the road and on the race route , EMPD will be clamping and towing vehicles . Please do not park on our neighbours ’ pavements . The following roads will be closed : Florence Road , Riley Road and Harper Road . Van Buuren Road ( Thabo Mbeki Road ) gets very congested , avoid if you can . Thoalane Guards will be our official parking guards and will be wearing Bedfordview Athletics branded reflective vests .
ENTRIES : Pre-entries only – none on the day ! No registration , substitution and T-shirt collection on race day

1 . Compulsory registration : All entrants MUST register before the event and collect their race numbers and goody bags .
2 . Pre-entries only : No new entries at Registration or on race day .
3 . Flexible registration : You can go to any registration point

• Dis-Chem Park Meadows – Friday 10 January 2025 – 09:30 – 16:00
• Virgin Active Bedfordview bottom fields – Saturday 11 January 2025 – 09:00 – 15:00
• Virgin Active Bedfordview bottom fields – Sunday 12 January 2025 04:30 – 06:30 Race Number Collection Only ! NO registration , goody bag and T-shirt collection on race day or substitutions
4 . T & Cs : While we will endeavour to supply your T-Shirt size , we cannot guarantee your preferred size . No T-Shirts will be handed out on Race Day .
5 . Collecting for others : To collect for someone else , you must produce the other runner ’ s race number confirmation , as well as some form of identification ( ID , Passport or Drivers Licence ) must be presented by the collecting party .
6 . Substitutions : If an athlete can ’ t participate , they may allow another athlete to officially take over their race number , but they must provide a letter confirming the substitution , as well as a copy of their ID . An admin fee of R50 is charged for substitutions , to be paid in cash . Only the new entrant needs to come to race collection . Substitutions can only be made at registration up till Saturday 11 Jan 2025 ( i . e . not on race morning ), using the original race number . Both the entry and T-Shirt will carry over the new entrant and unfortunately no shirt size changes will be allowed . Note : Failure to follow the above process will result in disqualification , both parties involved in the transgression as well as the running club will be reported to CGA for further disciplinary action .
7 . Lost numbers : No duplicate of lost numbers will be issued .
TIMING & RESULTS : The event will be electronically timed and your timing chip will be attached to your race number .
Please make sure you cross all the timing mats and do not crumple , bend or fold your bib , as this may damage the timing chip and we may not be able to read your finish time .
