SECTION 5 – FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable Extinguishing Media:
Water spray, CO2, dry chemical or alcohol-resistant firefighting foam.
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media:
Do not use water jet.
Specific Hazards from Product:
Flammable liquid and vapors. In a fire or if heated, a pressure increase will occur
and the container may burst, with the risk of subsequent explosion. Vapors/gas
may accumulate in low or confined areas or travel a considerable distance to a
source of ignition and flash back, causing fire or explosion. Runoff to sewer may
create fire or explosion hazard.
Hazardous Thermal
Decomposition Products:
Carbon dioxide (CO2); carbon monoxide (CO).
Specific Firefighting Methods:
Special Protective Equipment/
Precautions for Firefighters:
Promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident
if there is a fire. No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without
suitable training. Move containers from fire area if this can be done without risk.

Firefighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in a positive pressure
mode.
SECTION 6 – ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal Precautions:
Environmental Precautions
And Clean-Up Methods:
Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (see Section 8).
Eliminate all ignition sources. Stop all leaks if without risks. Prevent runoff from
entering drains, sewers, streams or other bodies of water. Absorb spill with inert
material. Transfer contaminated absorbent to containers for disposal.
SECTION 7 – HANDLING AND STORAGE
