EDITOR’S note
It’s BimROCK Magazine’s first summer. Naturally, we decided that this would be the
best summer ever!
Bathing in the sweetness of Crop Over, we came up with a checklist of goodies to
take you through the remaining weeks of our summer festival season:
Beach Wear: Our cover girl, swimwear designer Latoya Daniel of Daresque turns up
the heat with neon colours, revealing cuts and pure sass. Her bathing suits are hot
enough to cool the sun.
Music: The launch of the BimROCK supported Sunset Sundays - a musical platform
promoting Barbadian artists.
Drinks: Rum punch is the quintessential Caribbean liquor, and Garry’s Rum Punch
has the market on lock. I’ll confess to filling my cup one too many times with his
tropical spirits and stuffing my face with grilled eats. It’s summer time. I can do that.
Culture: Crop Over’s got soul and the Sons of God Apostolic Spiritual Baptists tell us
why. They should know. They’ve been involved since the inception.
Party: Cheap and sweet, with four weeks of Crop Over ahead of us, being all-inclusive
could prove expensive. So we sought out boss fetes for under $25 dollars.
Must Have: BimROCK Magazine of course. Read it while on the beach, drinking rum
punch, or after a night of partying to the music of the season.
