PUBLISHER’S note
Summer is here and things are heating up; literally and metaphorically. Crop Over
is here already and we at BimROCK have been very busy capturing the sights and
sounds of the season.
We also have a few new additions to the brand. BimROCKs!, our television spinoff, has just started airing and just like this publication, the TV show goes all over
Barbados to bring the most interesting aspects of Bajan lifestyle to the screen. Apart
from the best content from the magazine, the TV show will also have some special
treats that won’t be found anywhere else; so stay tuned. Currently the show airs on
Trident10 TV on Saturdays at 5:30 pm and is repeated at 8 pm on Tuesdays.
BimROCK Magazine also recently launched Sunset Sundays; an initiative to help
local artists generate more original music and visuals. Sunset Sundays is a fully
local music showcase bringing the best talent to one stage. The twist is that all
performances will be original work or covers of other Barbadian songs. The event
will be held every three months starting in September. At the conclusion of every
event one artist will win a recording, marketing, photography and music video
production package. So if you are an aspiring artist - get ready. This could be
your shot.
As you can see, BimROCK is constantly growing and looking for new ways to
highlight the best talents of our people. The work never stops in a place as rocking
as our island in the sun.
