“N
EXT PAYDAY MIGHT GET ME IN A LIL’ TROUBLE!” SAYS
WRITER SHAKIRAH BOURNE.
I’m doing one-on-one interviews with the trinity of Barbadian
filmmaking – graphic artist, CEO of Acute Vision, Ricky Redman;
cinematographer, owner of Get Busy Studios, Selwyne ‘Get Busy’
Browne, and award-winning author and writer of Payday and
Next Payday Shakirah Bourne. They are all directors of Bajans In
Motion.
Shakirah, who is founder of the freelance writing company
getWrite! celebrated the launch of her first novel, In Time Of
Need in 2014. Many who grew used to Bourne’s signature locks
now look forward to her changing hair colour and low cut afro.
She’s a classic Caribbean beauty with an intelligence that makes
her sexy. She looks at you and you know she’s thinking up
something, but manages to divert your attention with a smile
and everything is back to fun and good times.
In the heart of Bridgetown at BimROCK’s headquarters
we are in full production mode. The day is packed tight with
video interviews and our cover photoshoot. Bajans In Motion
is gearing up to release the sequel to their 2013 box office hit
comedy Payday.
