ELLO AGAIN FOODROCKERS!
For me, food is life! Cooking is my passion and I am truly happy when
in the kitchen. I am of the belief that food is best enjoyed when you
put some love into it. So I am going to show you how to prepare a
Bajan delicacy . . . Kim’s way.
Now the ban has finally been lifted and people all over the
island are trying to get their hands on this sweet delicacy . . . sea
eggs.
As a child, I would have seen my father eat sea eggs raw and I
just couldn’t understand how he managed to get it done. The smell,
the texture, just the look of this urchin, was too much for me to bear
back then. But growing up, I continued to watch him devour these
creatures of the sea, all the while making it seem like I was really
missing out. Many Barbadians can attest to this, as sea eggs, once in
season, were a must-have in most households.
As Bajans, we all have our own style when it comes to food and
its preparation but on this very warm evening in Christ Church, I
show you my way of preparing sea eggs with white rice and a
vegetable medley.
