I F NOT FOR HER OLDER BROTHERS, CHELSEA TUACH MIGHT NOT HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH SURFING. But as the story goes she followed them to the beach one day, picked up a board and has been riding waves ever since; well that’s the short version. BimROCK Magazine caught up to Chelsea while she was on island taking a short, well-deserved break from competitions (which she has been winning). This sister of the soil has been flying the Barbados flag high all over the world for a while now, and shows no signs of slowing down. Regionally, Chelsea has won Pro events in Jamaica (Makka Pro in 2008, 2009 and 2010), Trinidad (Sans Souci Pro in 2009 and 2010) and Barbados (November Pro in 2009 and 2010). Internationally she has won the National Kidney Foundation Women’s Pro, in 2010 and 2011 and has been to the World Junior’s where she won a copper medal. More recently Chelsea won the Pantin Classic which has qualified her for the World Championship Tour. At just 19 years old Chelsea has already accomplished so much and has a bright future ahead of her. Like all proud Bajans Chelsea carries a bit of Barbados wherever she goes but is always happy to come back home to good food, warm people and beautiful beaches. Keep making waves Chelsea, we are all rooting for you! h t t p s : / / w w w. f a c e b o o k . c o m / Chelsea-Tuach-770520606311083/ Kishmar Shepherd SPECIAL FEATURE | BIM ROCK | 15
