ONEY JAM BARBADOS
ANNOUNCED THE LINEUP FOR THE 2015
SHOWCASE AT THE ARTIST REVEAL EVENT HELD AT
THE HILTON BARBADOS’ CAREENAGE RESTAURANT. Zoe
Armstrong, Quissa Baptiste, Ieashia Browne, Kathleen Cothran,
Ann-Marie Devonish, Kamilah Ellis, Mikki King, Jamie Leacock,
Valentine Meniaud, Ashleigh Phillips, Jenn Proverbs, Ashlene Rahman, Dawn-Mari Springer and
Tonieka Thompson will be joined by some Honey Jam alumni and Melissa Megan - a Canadian
artist who won BTMI’s sponsored trip to Barbados.
The artists are now deep in preparation mode and started by attending a vocal and performance
workshop, a seminar entitled Getting Your Music Off The Rock and a songwriting workshop where
veteran artists Alison Hinds and David Kirton will be panellists. Calypsonians Ian Webster and
John King (whose daughter Mikki is one of 2015’s performers) have also expressed interest in
participating.
The artists are also conducting a round of radio interviews on MIX 96.9 FM, and just last week held a 100% Bajan
kick-off concert at the Dome Mall. They are also rehearsing with the house band led by Marius Charlemagne who
touring with Arturo Tappin.
One of the Honey Jam and Honey Jazz alumnus, NIKITA - who is now managed by Leah Marville, has recorded and to
represented Barbados in China, and toured with Arturo Tappin - has returned to Honey Jam this year as one of the audition
the artists. As such she will be participating in the workshops and meeting with each artist individually.
International brand Maybelline New York will be sponsoring the “Black Carpet” on the night of the show and will be sending

Show producer Ebonnie Rowe says that they are still short of sponsorship, indicating she has had to “approach t
for half of the funding she has received in previous years”. However she is not one to give up and will “keep it m

The big concert, hosted this year by Alex Jordan, takes
place on Saturday, November 14 at the Frank Collymore
