ISSUE 11 | NOVEMBER 2019 BIKERS CLUB | MAGAZINE | PAGE 58 Next day I unboarded my bike from Guwahati railway station after completing some formalities. Me and my rider friends of Rhino Riders headed for the North East Riders Meet (NERM) from there. I landed at Guwahati where I was welcomed by Mr. Krishnajana Chanda - Principal of South Point School in Guwahati and also a rider, heads the club called "Rhino Riders" (RE Club). After freshening up, we headed for the event which was organised by Mr. Chanda in his school "Salute to Soldiers." Which was incredible and by looking at the enthusiasm and respect towards our soldiers from the students of that school, I felt chocked throat out of emotions. Spending quality time at that school and with my rider friends of Rhino Riders, I went to rest for that day. "This is the best thing about riders community that all of us share a brotherhood feelings for each other, we don't see caste, religions & from where one belongs to, as far as he / she a rider, the community is always there for him / her." I thank God for giving me this second life after my retirement from the Indian Army. Riding motorcycle with passion gives you so many things which you can't image to get in normal life. First you get to travel and see many places, different cultures, different foods and above all you make many friends which is certainly a best thing about riding. Riding is an addiction, once you get that addiction, I bet you won't be able to leave. It gives you detox from your daily toxic schedule of work and life. Best thing about riding is that it gives you wings & freedom to fly wherever you want, it's a complete sense of freedom and meditation. Riding unites you with other riders no matter which bike they ride as long as they are passionate, you connect. And moreover, it's an opportunity to dig inside you because when you ride and your helmet is ON, your inner-voice starts talking to you. So as per my feeling I dig and talk a lot to my inner-voice but I can't say about others, it's very subjective but I am pretty sure that may be in some point of time every rider does this. What is NERM? It's an annual event which is organized by riding clubs of North East states of India. It was meant for riders of North East when it was started few years back but as the popularity gown many riders from rest of the countries started visiting this event and now it has become one of the reputed event for riders in India. On about 500 to 700 riders attends NERM every years which lasts for three days with many activities in it. The major clubs who organizes NERM are. AIZAWL THUNDERS - MIZORAM ROYAL ENFIELD RIDERS ASSOCIATION OF MEGHALAYA (RERAM) NAGALAND MOTORCYCLE CLUB ROYAL RIDERS MANIPUR ARUNACHAL BULLET CLUB - ITANAGAR BULLS OF ASAAM RHINO RIDERS - ASAAM Tripura have not held this event yet but I hope soon they will also organize it in coming years. This time it is being held by AIZAWL THUNDERS in Mizoram in November 2019. I personally love this event amongst all the events in India because of the place and the natural beauties in there. I have spent many years in North East serving to the country while in Indian Army, so I have that attachment too with North East.
