Cambodia by DR. MARAL YAZARLOO - PATTRICK We passed through immigration and customs without any trouble, and entered Cambodia. when you cross country borders by road, the world feels like a small village. You do not get this feeling when you take a flight into a country, because you are disconnected from the actual world. When you are connected again, you are on different soil, with different people, experiencing different weather, etc. But by road, the transition is much smoother as you are connected throughout. The changes are not sudden and I love that feeling. Also in some countries, as soon as you cross this man-made boundary line - you are suddenly in a different time zone ! And this has nothing to do with the latitude or longitudeĀ of where the country is located. One step behind the line is 7 pm and just a step away on the other side is 8 pm. Partner had visited and ridden through Cambodia before. He told me about the beautiful temples enroute to 'Siem Reap', located about 120 kms from the border. We paid US 20 $ and passed through a little barricade. It looked like a quiet jungle, with temples around. After riding about 10 minutes, partner suddenly took a left turn between some trees. I initially thought that he had lost his way, but as soon as we parked and walked ahead, I saw one of the most peaceful old temple. The place was absolutely deserted - I could hear the wind and birds. The energy and vibe of the space was magnificent. I saw a lighter and incense sticks on the ground next to the temple - I know someone had placed them there just for me. After visiting so many temples to date, I can say that I loved this one the most. We continued to another temple, which was bigger and more popular, though too touristy for our taste. We had some refreshing coconut water and got ready to continue our ride to 'Siem Reap', which was another 150 kms away. communicate. One little kid had Down's Syndrome - he was the cutest ! He hugged me so tight, sent me flying kisses and tried to tell me stories. I could only hear sounds no words. I loved that little angel. This reminded me of a very important fact that, we as humans use the easiest way of communication, which is language. As soon as that option is not available, we communicate with love and smiles ! On the way, we stopped at a small shop, where no one spoke any English. We started communicating with the kids. These kids did need any language or thoughts to As soon as we got to 'Siem Reap', it started to rain like crazy. We pulled over and ran to the first shop - an electronics store owned by some Chinese people.
