FROM A BIKER'S MOUTH A BIKER'S GUIDE TO USA Based on our ride through USA, here is a list of few things you will need to keep in mind. You have to apply visa for USA before you start your journey and once you get the visa done then only you will be allowed to ride there in USA. Documents you need for your Australia Visa FILLED VISA FORM PASSPORT & PHOTOCOPY PHOTOGRAPHS (2 NOS) BIKE RC (ORIGINAL) BIKE INSURANCE OF YOUR COUNTRY BIKE CARNET BIKE PUC INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE ENTRY / EXIT OF BIKES IN USA EPA permission for importing bikes into USA will take minimum of 3 weeks and you have to have this at the time of entry. Custom was the easiest. It took us 45 minutes to clear everything and get our Carnet stamped. At the exit point to Mexico, there was no USA custom to stamp our passports and carnet. WHEN RIDING IN USA Right side drive Make sure you follow all the rules on highways. People drive at high speeds and any mistake cause huge damage. Some highways are very windy. Check your route for petrol pumps as on some routes may not find one for miles! Route 66 is not one route from start to end.
