minimum of 3 weeks and you have to have this at the time
of entry.
Custom was the easiest. It took us 45 minutes to clear
everything and get our Carnet stamped.
At the exit point to Mexico, there was no USA custom to
stamp our passports and carnet.
WHEN RIDING IN USA
Right side drive
Make sure you follow all the rules on highways. People
drive at high speeds and any mistake cause huge damage.
Some highways are very windy.
Check your route for petrol pumps as on some routes may
not find one for miles!
Route 66 is not one route from start to end. You start on
main highway and take detours from old historical Route 66
into smaller towns.
TRAVELLER TIPS
IN USA, distance is in Miles (instead of km) and
temperature is in Degree F. Useful vocabulary: Gas (Petrol),
Gas station (Petrol Pump), Rest Room (Bathroom).
Motel 6 is the chain of affordable hotels all over USA and
cost around $43 - $65 depending on location.
Cities are safe and people are friendly.
We managed to get vegetarian food everywhere!
