BC: Do you think, because of social media
platforms many people started riding ? Or do you
believe it's about coolness in riding ? Or people
have really started showing passion about riding ?
Or means of entertainment is changing, people
prefer riding over movies and restaurants ?
KS: I think everyone has their own perception,
Some gets inspired by seeing, or some by hearing,
and some by riding, some gets kicked of it's
adventure or some people do it for show off, or
some, may be most of it for fame. So everyone has
their own perception for riding motorcycles.
BC: What's your point of view on breaking rules in
riding or disciplinary riding ?
KS: I believe in disciplinary riding, and those who
break rules, they risk their life, so it's the matter of
life & death, one mistake can ruin your life. So I
strongly recommend bikers club's quote "Ride with
Pride".
BC: What do you think about female riders aka
bikernis ? Do you support them ?
KS: Yes, I definitely support them. I feel proud when I
see them riding motorcycles and doing LDR's and I
respect their passion to follow their dreams and
explore the world and to set examples to the society
and those females who are thinking to start rides.
BC: According to you, what's the difference between
commuters and a rider as they both ride motorcycles.
KS: Major difference is the feeling, according to me a
rider feels his/her rides and always open to explore
new places and routes. And commuters uses bikes
just for point A-B. I don't say a commuter can't be a
passionate riders, remember one thing all the
passionate riders have started as a commuters only.
So I respect commuters also, and in a way we all are
commuters only in our different places
(Metaphorically he says).
BC: Do you have any goals in biking ? If yes then
share.
KS: World tour on my bike and Route 66.
Riding is oxygen
- KARAN SINGH
BC: Have you came across any wanna be riders ?
KS: Yes, I have come across many, I have seen
people putting Ladakh flags on their bike handles
without knowing the meaning of it and almost all of
them have never rode to Ladakh ever. They just
want to show off that they are very sincere riders.
BC: "Bikers Brotherhood", do you believe in this
most used and famous words in bikers community
?
KS: I strongly believe in bikers brotherhood. It's
about having helping nature and always ready to
help other riders at any point and of their own
capacity. I believe as a human it's our responsibility
and the commitment to the society.
BC: Do you think Riding Motorcycle has an advantage
over the cagers (car commuters) ?
KS: Yes, I do think riders are more close to nature and
exposed to adventure. Car is a family vehicle so it has
it's own limitations but there are few exceptions to it
also, like bikers there are so many clubs whose
members are passionate drivers and does LDT too in
their cars.
BC: What advice do you wish you knew, when you
first started out ?
KS: I wish I knew about riding gears at that time, so I
could ride more confidently in those time. But there
were no internet, smart phones and maps in those
time. So it's okay.
BC: We have observed, Families of riders always fears
for their sons or daughters when they go for LDR.
KS: You should trust your kids and encourage them to
become strong. But riders should also think about
their responsibilities towards their families and they
should keep in mind when riding that somebody is
waiting back there home for them.
BC: Regarding those who don't practice ATGATT (ALL
THE GEARS ALL THE TIME), how do you feel about
them ? Do you encourage it ? What do you think
about safety measures ?
KS: I prefer full safety, so I always tell riders to use all
riding gears. I AM ATGATTT rider.
BC: When do you think you'll stop riding ? Anytime
soon ?
KS: No way ! I am and will remain a biker till my last
breath.
