Grant drove the ute in as close as possible,
we collected the shot pigs and dragged the lot
down to load onto the deck. The farmer was as
chuffed as we were with the result and we now
had a load of very good pork to add to the catch
from the previous day.
Back at our base we caught up with the Mitchell
team who’d had another successful day as well.
The trip total was 14 pigs and all were put to

good use as meat for everyone’s freezers, a
much better purpose than being culled to waste.
It was great to see a few young guys getting
into it and also a fantastic opportunity to
pump a few pigs through the pups. Although
it’s not hard country and we didn’t get
any massive hogs, every pig is valuable
experience for the trainees.
