As winter kicks in, the ground softens and the porkers come down to the improved ground and get the grubbers out, wrecking all the hard work of establishing a decent pasture. The choppers and shooters have been called out on many stations for cull to waste programs to reduce the numbers. We gathered a crew of blokes and youngsters with an assortment of dogs and headed south to see if we could capture some of these “pests” and turn them into meat to feed several different families.
