The inspiration for his pots is derived from the desert , specifically the Big Bend region of the Chihuahuan Desert . For Gregory , the desert represents the purest form of divinity . This pantheistic viewpoint comes from a personal relationship with the desert ’ s austere landscape and the pots are a manifestation of it .
