Both contemporary and vintage styling go into my
large, lovely line of handmade jewelry. I use
beautiful and unusual components that inspire me,
whether they’re stones or glass, pearls or vintage

SIERRA DEL CARMEN IN THE ARMS OF THE
SETTING SUN, Lindy Cook Severns 36in x 24in oil
Big Bend Artist Lindy Cook Severns is a seventh generation Texan who paints real places
in the American west: primarily the high desert ranch lands of Far West Texas and Big Bend
National Park.
Her paintings hang throughout the United States and in foreign collections. She's one of
35 artists selected for inclusion in the book TEXAS TRADITIONS, CONTEMPORARY
ARTISTS OF THE LONE STAR STATE (Michael Duty and Susan Hallsten McGarry 2010) and
featured in the nationally aired 2016 PBS documentary WESTERN PERSPECTIVE #5. Lindy's
received Best of Show in prestigious museum invitational exhibits and teaches occasional
workshops, but focuses on painting.
Jim and Lindy live a delightfully nomadic existence in a big RV with a stubbornly
affectionate rescued terrier and a cranky African Grey parrot who passionately loves art. Her
studio is wherever she sets up her easel. Old Spanish Trail Gallery and Museum, where Lindy
is the gallery director and Artist-In-Residence and Jim is Head of Hangings is high on a
working ranch in the Davis Mountains of Far West Texas and open year around by
appointment.
